The intensive care unit is located at Helsingborg Hospital, one of Region Skåne's four emergency hospitals, where qualified emergency care is provided around the clock. Our unit is a resource for the various operations at Helsingborg Hospital and collaborates with other intensive care units in Region Skåne.

In the intensive care unit, we staff the intensive care department (IVA), postoperative department (post op), intermediate care department (IMA), hyperbaric chamber, and pain unit. IVA is a general intensive care unit with eight beds for patients from northwestern Skåne. UVA is open around the clock with 15 monitoring places, of which two places are primarily used to monitor children. IVA and UVA provide qualified intensive and postoperative care. Patients are cared for in the department after trauma, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and multiple organ failure, among others.

The pain unit and hyperbaric chamber are also part of IVA. The pain unit is a consulting instance for acute/postoperative, cancer, and neurogenic pain in hospitalized patients. The hyperbaric chamber treats patients from all over southern Sweden, including for wound healing problems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to take on new challenges and enjoys working closely with a team around critically ill and newly operated patients. With us, you will find an exciting and varied job where each day is unique, while also having good opportunities to develop and grow in your professional role.

In the role of nursing assistant, you will work closely with nurses and doctors, and together you will focus on the patient. You will work with different patient categories, which means you will experience a varied pace of work. The position involves caring for critically ill patients and/or newly operated patients, where you monitor patients using medical technology equipment.

Your workday will largely consist of various nursing measures that are very important for the patient's recovery - as a nursing assistant, you have a central role around the patient.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing is a requirement for the position. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in an intensive care unit and/or postoperative unit and have several years of experience in emergency care.
